Sister, is Celibacy for You?

Is Celibacy for you?

I know this is first a hair blog but, as you know as women we start talking about hair and finding ourselves and then the conversation branches out into all other aspects of life.  Recently, I’ve had many questions regarding celibacy and what it means as a Christian, as an African-American woman, and as a single women.  I was reminded of a book I purchased years ago by Donna Marie Williams called Sensual Celibacy.  The author is an African-American woman a woman who has been married, single, and married again. But along the way she found celibacy and developed a 10 step program to reclaim self, creativity, and spiritual connection through the practice of celibacy.  I found the book helpful.  So much so that I am rereading it ten years later, and I recommend it to others.

God Bless!

Looking for Transition inspiration?

Looking for Transition Inspiration?

Somewhere around the end of the second month of my transition to locs, while I was still wearing twists, and while I knew I could still go back, I began to doubt myself. I began to listen more to the looks of those people who asked why I just didn't get braids. I began to wonder how I would be able to pass off my locs as professional and then I found these wonderful videos on youtube.   I hope they will work to inspire you and help you believe in your natural beauty.
